
Our History
Established in 1996, Terry Wynter Auto Service began in an eight bay rental property. In May of 2000, the operation moved to its present location and today is a busy 11-bay shop.
Terry's good name and reputation are reflected in the continued success of the auto service center, which employs a highly-qualified staff of technicians and customer service representatives to serve our customers with the highest level of service. The staff of Terry Wynter Auto Service Center provides expert service on all new cars, as well as favorite classic cars. But most importantly, these guys know how to make them run like a charm.
A Well-Run Partnership

Terry and Kay Wynter
Terry Wynter was born in California and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He calls Fort Myers, Florida home. A resident of Fort Myers since 1978, Terry and his wife and business partner, Kay, share a full life and successful business.
Kay Wynter has been in the automotive business ever since founding Terry Wynter Auto Service Center with her husband in 1996. A graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in business administration, Kay spent a number of years working in the esteemed, North Carolina financial industry before moving to Florida and meeting Terry.
One day, while having her car serviced, Kay met Terry. The rest is history. Today, Kay draws on her vast experience in helping to manage shop operations. As the office and business manager, she oversees key business details, and contributes her vital support in many ways to the service team, alongside Terry.
Kay Wynter has been in the automotive business ever since founding Terry Wynter Auto Service Center with her husband in 1996. Terry Wynter Auto: A Leader in Car Care
Terry's able leadership, much like his favorite cars, run smoothly and in balance with his seasoned management skills, advanced technological skills, and early wrench experiences. As car technology advanced into the 21st century, Terry worked for many years as a manager for some of the most well known 'big guys' in the automobile service business.
It's not surprising that folks who knew Terry then, now send the younger generation of their families to Terry's shop for car service today. Over the years, Terry Wynter Auto Service Center has earned a solid reputation for delivering the kind of car care service a new customer can always rely on without a doubt. The shop's longtime customers all know the next time their car needs service they are in good hands.
All in all, the shop is a product of Terry's original interest and passion for cars. A passion that he enjoyed when he was very young, when he first took high school shop classes, tuned big engines with his brothers, and raced his fast cars regularly. Proving to be a genuine leader of the pack, Terry, with the support of his staff will keep cars in the growing Fort Myers community running well for years to come.

We earn the Blue Seal of Excellence recognition awarded annually by the ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence). In doing so, we have acknowledged that the backbone of any shop is the competence of its technicians. ASE is well known as the industry-leading certification program for automotive professionals. ASE certification means that an individual has passed tough industry-developed exams and meets experience requirements.
The ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition goes a step further by identifying those establishments that have a large percentage of certified professionals and a certified professional in each area of service offered. It's a commitment that earns only the best establishments the recognition to stand out from the crowd.

Terry Wynter Auto Service is a proud member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind dedicated to and governed by independent automotive service and repair professionals. ASA serves an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from both the mechanical and collision repair segments of the automotive service industry.
ASA members adhere to ASA’s Code of Ethics – the automotive service industry’s standard for professional business practices with consumers in mind. In addition to its business name, motorists can also identify ASA member businesses by their red, white and blue ASA sign.

New Roadside Assistance Service - All Terry Wynter Auto Service customers have a terrific new benefit available to them. ACDelco, a national manufacturer of quality automotive parts, will provide 24-hour roadside assistance in the U.S. and Canada to Terry Wynter Auto Service Center customers with a paid invoice after January 1, 2012, regardless of the brand or part installed or service performed. Customers pay for the roadside assistance upfront and are then reimbursed up to a maximum of $75. The services include towing, battery jump-start, changing flat tires, delivery of fuel, oil, fluid and water, and lock-out service. To take advantage of the service, call 1-800-ACDelco, prompt 3. Kay Wynter, co-owner of Terry Wynter Auto Service Center hosts two free car care seminars for women, titled “Knowledge is Power.” The seminar is designed to enhance women’s understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements such as checking oil levels and tire pressure. Wynter and a master technician teach attendees how to troubleshoot common problems, enhance road safety and manage their vehicle service needs. “We want to empower women with the automotive knowledge they need to feel comfortable and confident when maintaining their vehicle,” says Wynter. MotorAge magazine named Terry Wynter Auto Service Center among the top ten in the nation for its prestigious Top Shop Awards for 2009. Terry Wynter Auto Service Center was the only Florida shop to qualify for the national recognition and will be featured in the December issue of the magazine. “I am extremely honored to be named a Top Shop finalist,” says owner Terry Wynter. “We would not be celebrating this incredible honor if it weren’t for my amazing staff and their great team work and commitment to the industry.” Each year, MotorAge judges auto repair centers throughout the country on the merits of community service, industry participation, customer service, marketing, philosophy and commitment to technology.
